AB Terrace

The design behind AB Terrace is driven by the client’s desire to live in an open plan house whilst maintaining privacy. However, the existing linear layout of the intermediate single storey terrace house did not facilitate good cross ventilation and is poorly illuminated internally. An extra floor was added on top, to allow for a rearrangement of spaces.

Three separate green zones were strategically placed throughout the home, blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors. Additional screens, doors and a skylight were introduced to create ambiguity between privacy and openness while allowing natural light to illuminate the home and a natural breeze to keep it cool.
